Working with flexbox in CSS you can specify the properties such as:

  • flex-direction - defines the direction flex items are placed in the flex container,
  • flex-wrap - specifies if items can wrap onto multiple lines.

The flex-flow property is a shorthand for this two.

Example:

.container {
  display: flex;
  flex-flow: column wrap;
}

is equivalent to:

.container {
  display: flex;
  flex-direction: column;
  flex-wrap: wrap;
}
