In this article, we would like to show you how to string date time to epoch timestamp in milliseconds in C#.

Quick solution:

DateTime epochTime = DateTime.Parse("1970-01-01");
DateTime date = DateTime.Parse(dateString);
​
var milliseconds = date.Subtract(epochTime).TotalMilliseconds;

Console.WriteLine(milliseconds); // 1620907140000

Practical example

In this example, we convert dateString to date using Parse() method, then we use Subtract() method with TotalMilliseconds property to get number of milliseconds that passed since the Epoch to specified date.
