points
In this article, we would like to show you how to round a number to 2 decimal places in TypeScript.
The main concept to get our value rounded to 2 decimal places is to multiply it by 100, round it with Math.round() function and then divide by 100 again.
Practical example
const round = (value: number): number => {
return Math.round(100 * value) / 100; // <----------
};
// Usage example:
console.log(round(1.2345)); // 1.23
console.log(round(-1.2345)); // -1.23
Output:
1.23
-1.23
