First Contentful Paint is a performance metric used to measure loading speed and user experience. It refers to the time it takes for the first content to appear on a web page after it starts loading. The content can be for example: text, video, images, canvas, etc.

It provides insight into how quickly a website is rendering content to the user. A faster FCP means that the user sees something on the screen sooner and is more likely to remain engaged with the page. A slower FCP can result in a poor user experience and lead to higher bounce rates.
