In this article, we would like to show you how to remove the first n characters from the string in Python.

text = 'ABCD'
n = 3
result = text[n:]  # removes first n characters
print(result)      # D

 

Practical example using string slicing

In this example, we use string slicing to remove the first n characters from the text string.

text = 'ABCD'
n = 3

# removes first n characters
result = text[n:]

print(result)  # D
