WSL Ubuntu - solution for error: [process exited with code 4294967295 (0xffffffff)]

In this article, we would like to show you how to solve WSL [process exited with code 4294967295 (0xffffffff)] error.

This error is quite popular when running Ubuntu distro.

Problem

1. Lunch Ubuntu in windows terminal via WSL
2. In the terminal we see: 

   A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond 
   after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected 
   host has failed to respond.
   
   [process exited with code 4294967295 (0xffffffff)]

Solution

1. Open windows terminal as administrator
2. Run 'netsh winsock reset'
3. Reboot your computer.

Example:

> netsh winsock reset
Sucessfully reset the Winsock Catalog.
You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.
